Baker Woods Preserve consists of over 5 miles of trails, and features both a river, and pond at opposite ends of the preserve.  We go looking for the pond and follow a tip from someone on the trail in search for the best view.  So I hope you enjoy the episode, and check out the photos we made along the way. 22mm f/2.8 1/640sec ISO 100

Should You Use Lightroom Presets Plus 10 Free Presets

I'm the type of person that likes to get straight to the point, no fluff, so if the answer to this question were straight forward I would answer it with a simple yes, or no. but it's not as simple as that. So we're going to go a little more in-depth on Lightroom presets. What they are, when to use them, the pros and cons of using them, and where to get them. As a bonus feature I'm going to share which presets I personally use, and why  Unedited Raw Photo Edited to taste without preset

Cathedral Rock Fire Tower (podcast)

Cathedral Rock Fire Tower Hiked July 17th 2021  In this podcast we hike up the Cathedral Rock Fire Tower trail. we talk about the memories that something as simple as smell can bring on, and why its important to take time to enjoy your family. Hiking up the Cathedral Rock trail is something I've been looking forward to for some time, unfortunately, due to closures I wasn't able to do it till now. The trail is about 1 mile in, and 1 mile out, with an incline of about 200 feet from the bottom to top.  I hope you enjoy the photos we made along the way. 22mm, f/5.6, 1/100sec, ISO 250  Buy Print Seeing a boardwalk through the forest was a pleasant surprise for me. 7/21/2021 I was having a bad day, couldn't shake it no matter how I tried. I would get a little ambition to do something, but end up lying in bed before I got around to do it. Then I looked outside, saw the way the clouds were moving through the sky, and remembered a list I made a few weeks ago.

The Wilson's Beach Alternative (Blog)

Image
The Wilson's Beach Alternative My Brother and I were Standing in the middle of the straightest dirt road I could find, our car pulled over, hood in the air, and the sun rapidly setting over the horizon. You'd be forgiven to assume we'd broken down, and been stranded on  the side of the road, but we were far from broken down, in fact, the whole thing was just a set up for a photo. When I first got my camera I took it everywhere. I had a seemingly endless supply of ideas, locations, and landscapes I wanted to make photos of, but I quickly realized that all my ideas were kind of the same. Landscape photography around these parts, though beautiful, quickly becomes stale. Lake Ontario, and the St. Lawrence River make for lots of photo opportunities, but there's only so many sunsets and container ship photos you can take before it starts to get a little old I had found the website 500px.com and learne...

300 Miles and little to show

Sept 11th 2020 Fridays are a day I try not to assert to much effort into my workday. I'm fortunate to have a job that allows me the freedom to either work in the office in Syracuse, or in the field, so on Fridays I normally forgo the hour long drive to the office and work locally in the field, but I didn't get that choice today, I still worked in the field, just not locally.
